PAYING FOR PAIN IS INHUMANE
I’m telling you that I was you
I didn’t know the truth, I had no clue.
I ain’t perfect, never thrive to be.
There is such a thing as being naive.
I paid for torture and suffering,
I paid for unnecessary pain.
That’s on my hands, on my name.
I paid for something so inhumane.
I would have feasts
Around different types of meats
You best believe I would eat all the cheese
Without knowing the truth, I did all that with ease.
It’s so easy to do so when they don’t tell you
All that the animal has to go through.
I bought things I regret.
From a horrible breeder,
I bought my own dang pet
And here I am trying to tell you to do better, be better.
When, I paid for torture and suffering
I paid for unnecessary pain
That’s on my hands, on my name
I paid for something so inhumane
From eating bacon first in the morning,
To loving every living being,
The guilt of such actions still lingers on my brain.
Although I paid for torture and suffering,
Although I paid for something so inhumane.
In order to break the chains and let go of my pain
I must forgive myself and begin the healing.
Knowing it is something I’ll never do again.
